Maria Koushiou

Maria Koushiou is a professional psychologist who has worked in shelters for unaccompanied children and provided services of psychological assessment and support to minors who were either asylum seekers or international protection beneficiaries in Cyprus. In addition, she has contributed to the development and implementation of the first foster care program in Cyprus that aimed to recruit, train and assess potential foster parents to undertake the care of unaccompanied immigrant minors. Her interest in cultural and ethnic diversity is deeply rooted in her clinical and humanitarian work with immigrant children.
